A Week of Giving & Winning for the St. Thomas Stars

The St. Thomas Stars had a packed and meaningful week, both in the community and on the ice. It all began on the morning of November 22nd with Stuff the Cruiser for Christmas Care alongside the St. Thomas Police Services. The Stars helped collect donations, bringing holiday cheer and lending their support to a cause close to the community’s heart.

That same evening, the players brought their energy to the St. Thomas Santa Claus Parade (This was all thanks to our sponsors VP Specialized Carriers and Ken Jones Signs.). They were out in full force, spreading festive spirit and showing the city exactly what Stars hockey is all about. Even after the parade ended, fans continued talking about the team’s enthusiasm and presence.

On Sunday, the Stars hosted Komoka for their annual Hat and Mitten Drive, sponsored by Direct Delivery. All donated items were delivered to St. Thomas’ The Inn. The Stars capped off the night with a strong 5–1 victory, earning goaltender William Camputaro his first win as a Star.

The momentum continued midweek as the team travelled to Hamilton to take on the Kilty B’s, securing another impressive win—this time 5–2—with Camputaro once again guarding the crease.

Returning home on Friday the 28th, the Stars hosted their Christmas Care food and toy drive, along with the ever-popular Teddy Bear Toss. George Matsos scored the all-important first goal of the night, sending stuffed animals raining onto the ice. The Stars wrapped up the evening with another 5–2 victory over Komoka.

The week finished on a strong note as the players volunteered across the city for the Salvation Army Kettle Drive. Fans spotted Stars at Briwood, Metro, FreshCo, Giant Tiger, Real Canadian Superstore, and both Walmart entrances collecting donations and connecting with the community.

With the Christmas holidays approaching, Stars Nation has truly demonstrated the spirit of giving. Thank you to everyone who donated, supported, and cheered on the St. Thomas Stars throughout this busy and successful week.
