The Greater Ontario Hockey League is pleased to announce the winners of the Collins Clothiers Players of the Month for February.
Player of the Month:
Ethan Quick (Caledonia Corvairs)
9 GP: 7 goals, 10 assists, 17 points
The 2nd-year forward from Trenton opened the month with a season high 6-point game (2G, 4A) in an 8-2 win over Welland on the 1st — his first of four multi-point games for the month. In a 6-3 win over Caledon on the 28, the 4th round pick of the Ottawa 67’s in 2021 recorded his third career GOHL hat trick, helping the Corvairs clinch a playoff berth. Ethan leads his team in points (62), assists (39), power play points (20) and game winning goals (4).
Rookie of the Month:
Wyatt Cameron (St. Thomas Stars)
9 GP: 7 goals, 5 assists, 12 points
The Yellowknife native led all GOHL rookies with 7 goals in the month, including his first career hat trick in the Stars’ 5-4 overtime win over Listowel on the 22nd. In a 5-4 come-from-behind win over Waterloo on the 27th, Wyatt had 3 points, including the tying goal in the third period. He is second in team scoring with 51 points for the Stars who are battling the Siskins for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Goaltender of the Month:
Rafael Tremblay (Fort Erie Meteors)
6 GP: 5-1-0, 1.65 GAA, .940 Sv%, 2 SO
Acquired from the Smiths Falls Bears (CCHL) at the trade deadline, the Laval, QC native won each of his first five starts of the month. He earned his first two career GOHL shutouts in a pair of 1-0 victories over Port Colborne, making 20 saves on the 16th and stopping all 23 shots faced on the 27th. Rafael has won 10 of his 12 starts for the Meteors since his arrival in Fort Erie.
