In case you missed the big news…
On September 9th, 2025, the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) announced an exciting new partnership that puts player development and growth at the forefront — strengthening the pathway to the OHL and beyond.
Beginning with the 2025-26 season, the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) will officially become the first development league of the OHL. The 23-team, Southern Ontario-based circuit has long contributed to the growth of countless OHL players, offering incredible opportunities for young athletes to maximize their potential.
This new initiative creates a unified framework that will:
- Support the growth and development of OHL prospects
- Provide a consistent approach to training, competition, and mentorship
- Elevate the overall standard of player development
- Ensure long-term success while strengthening the GOJHL
As proud members of the GOJHL, the St. Thomas Stars Junior Hockey Club are thrilled to be part of this exciting new chapter in junior hockey. We couldn’t be happier to share this news with the galaxy!
